We love South O, where quaint bungalows are mixed with upgraded estates on tree-lined streets just steps from the sand.
Not only is the beach a walkable distance, but residents can also stroll to the vibrant restaurant scene on Coast Highway as well. Ride a bike to the pier or harbor, plus freeway access is excellent – wow!
Situated close to Coast Highway, there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shops to visit when living in South Oceanside.
Food spots to try:
When you're this close to the beach, you need to take advantage! Spend your sunny days basking in the sun on the nearby beaches, catching some waves, or walking along the sand. Buccaneer Beach, Oceanside Blvd Beach, and Wisconsin Street Beach are the closest to South Oceanside, with more Oceanside options to the north and plenty of Carlsbad beaches a short distance away.
South O's location makes it easy to get to adjacent neighborhoods, with the I-5 and Coast Highway serving at its borders. The city of Oceanside has seen significant growth along the west side, with a flurry of shops, restaurants, breweries, bars, and more thriving along Coast Highway. The Oceanside Harbor is the main harbor in North County with over 1,200 boat slips. Built in 1888, the Oceanside Pier is one of the oldest piers on the west coast and offers beautiful views of our coastline and local surfers.
South Oceanside is zoned to the Oceanside Unified School District.
Residents attend South Oceanside Elementary (K-5), Lincoln Middle School (6-8) and Oceanside High School.
